We are very happy to announce that the Grand Hotel and Casino has become the naming sponsor of the Vanuatu Marlin Classic. This relationship has been years in the making and is an obvious fit for both the Grand Hotel and the Marlin Classic Tournament. The hotel boasts high quality facilities including various well appointed and award winning dining venues, a world class casino, a host of luxury accommodations and access to a wide variety of activities; all supported by their professional and well trained staff.

Starting this year, 2010, all major VMC events will be held at the Grand Hotel including the observer briefing, tournament briefing, calcutta and the awards dinner. The Grand Hotel is central to all the individual events that make up the Marlin Classic over a 10 day period. On fishing days, morning breakfasts and evening drinks & snack service will be provided by the Grand Hotel on a waterfront block adjacent to the Grand Hotel property. This block will serve as the VMC Base for 2010 and is only a few short steps from the Grand Hotel lobby.

In its inaugural year as the naming sponsor the Grand Hotel and Casino is offering a special accommodation rate to VMC competitors of only $175 AUD/night.

Guy Sebastian visited the Grand Hotel and Casino and Iririki Island Resort & Spa on the weekend for two memorable concerts. Guy is now briefly heading back to Australia before settling in “The Big Apple”.

Iririki Island Resort & Spa Vanuatu was featured in the acclaimed magazine – The Magazine – in the month of September 2009. The two page spread highlighted the strong drawing points of the exotic island.

A local radio station in Mildura – 99.5 Star FM – held a promotion in which their breakfast announcers Mattman & Alves attempted to meet every listener. They also offered listeners the chance to win a Holiday for two people spending seven nights at Iririki Island Resort & Spa Vanuatu. Over 1500 entries went into the draw, but there could only be one winner.

Iririki Island Resort & Spa Vanuatu helped raise much needed funds for The Examiner Winter Relief Appeal in March 2009. The prize included five nights in a Deluxe room including a buffet breakfast and the Iririki pass for two.
